did you know that this painting is the only one Vincent van Gogh ever sold during his lifetime ?

Anna Boch (great, great, great aunt of the editor of the and great great aunt of Brigitte Boch	in I890, the painting was exposed during le Salon XX in Paris, Anna Boch, the only female member of this association of 20 Impressionist artists, bought it to show public support to Vincent van Gogh and his critised paintings. She paid 400 Francs to buy the Vigne Rouge (I don't know how much this represents in todays values but not very much) even though Anna Boch had never met van Gogh, she knew about him through her younger brother Eugen Boch and she was one of the first to understand Vincent van Goghs genious Today, this painting is in the Pouchkine Museum in Moscow (no website yet) also giving people from Russia some treasures from France

Often art critics mention the stars in the background comparing it with other starry night paintings. Who knows what this means ...
